Vanessa Trott

Vanessa Trott completed a Bachelor of Psychology with Flinders University in 2021 and a Master of Counselling and Psychotherapy in 2023. She is committed to ongoing professional development, including Internal Family Systems and Narrative Therapy frameworks to support her trauma-informed practice.

Vanessa is a new graduate of her program but has an extensive working history in mental health. Vanessa has worked with Lifeline Australia, becoming an Accredited Crisis Support Worker in 2022, employing a person-centred approach to support individuals contemplating suicide and/or living with domestic and family violence. This sparked an interest in working with individuals who have experienced trauma across their lifetime. Vanessa has also provided Disability Support through her own business for several years, working primarily with Autistic children and young adults. Further, Vanessa has worked as an Allied Health Assistant for Rehab Solutions for two years, building an extensive knowledge base around neurodivergence, brain injuries, and degenerative conditions, including utilizing a range of tailored alternative communication.

Vanessa maintains a trauma-informed, person-centred approach. Her personal ethos is not diagnostic but rather aims to see clients as the complex and nuanced human beings they are underneath the labels. Her authenticity, genuineness, and warmth support the building of trust and facilitate the development of holistic treatment plans, allowing her to walk alongside individuals as they heal.
