Rebecca Francis completed a Bachelor of Speech Pathology (Honours) at Flinders University in 2018. She began her speech pathology career in research and education, working as a lecturer at Flinders University. During this time, she conducted research that investigated swallowing problems, and taught anatomy and physiology of communication, as well as motor speech disorders.
In 2024, Rebecca completed her PhD, exploring swallowing and cognitive and behavioural changes associated with Motor Neurone Disease. Her research and clinical experience have given her a strong understanding of the challenges that can come with progressive neurological conditions.
Rebecca has a particular interest in supporting adults living with conditions such as Parkinson’s Disease and Motor Neurone Disease. She also works with people experiencing speech, language and swallowing difficulties following stroke or acquired brain injury.
Rebecca takes a warm, collaborative and person-centred approach to therapy. She spends time listening to best understand what is important to each person, their family and support network. Together, she works with clients to identify meaningful goals and develop practical strategies that can make a difference.
