Rehab Solutions works to enhance communication participation for people with communication difficulties through the use of augmentative and alternative communication (AAC).
We support our clients to find the most appropriate AAC system to maximise communicative success. We work with funding bodies including the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) to obtain funding for our clients and work closely with families and carers to support implementation.
Our clinicians work with high tech systems which allow clients to communicate using symbol based or text based communication and also control aspects of their environment. These may include:
- Direct access systems including iPad and tablet.
- Eye gaze communication systems
- Switch access
We also work with low tech communication systems including:
- Personalised communication books
- Pragmatically organised dynamic display (PODD) books
- Aided language displays
