Alice Gain is an early career Speech Pathologist passionate about optimising quality of life through communication and building strong positive therapeutic relationships. Alice takes a holistic and client-centred approach to care, recognising that we all have different stories, identities, strengths and challenges. Alice prioritises ensuring her clients feel empowered in their speech pathology journey to work towards achieving goals that are meaningful to them.
Alice has experience working with paediatric and adult populations across metro, community, school-based and remote settings. Alice valued her time in Katherine NT working with a culturally diverse population in the paediatric speech, language and literacy space. From this experience, she developed a passion for working in remote areas and is committed to the ongoing journey of understanding and implementing culturally responsive and trauma-informed practice.
Alice has experience working with people with aphasia and focuses on utilising a combination of both functional and impairment-based therapies to rebuild communication capacity. She has a particular interest in working with stroke, TBI and progressive neurological conditions, as well as with Deaf/Hard of Hearing individuals to advocate for language access.
Outside of work, you can find Alice travelling to new places, listening to her favourite music, or enjoying a yoga and coffee catchup with friends.
