Kendal Stone completed a Bachelor of Speech Pathology at Flinders University in 2010, followed by a Diploma in Dementia Care in 2017. She has remained strongly committed to expanding her knowledge and skills, regularly attending professional development workshops or conferences.
Kendal is an experienced Speech Pathologist who has worked with adults for over 10 years. She has worked in a range of settings including acute hospitals, inpatient rehabilitation, restorative care and community. She is passionate about advocating for her clients, supporting and educating their family and social circles, and helping everyone achieve best functional outcomes. She has a particular strong interest in cognitive-communication and swallowing impairment associated with brain injury or degenerative conditions. Additionally, she has interest in supporting people living with a disability through use of alternative communication.
Kendal believes in a combination of impairment based and functional therapy, such as practicing ordering a coffee at the local café or using social media to maintain social connections. Kendal is also experienced in project management and student education, being a clinical supervisor for Speech Pathology students and Placement Facilitator across a range of health and nursing disciplines.
